About Lowell Stauffer Flamm

Lowell Stauffer Flamm, age 88, passed away on Friday, September 30, 2011 of causes incident to age.

He was born June 14, 1923 in Billings, Montana to George William and Mabel A. Stauffer Flamm.

Lowell served his country in World War II in General Patton's 12th Armored Division. He married Peggy Marble on March 5, 1948 in the Logan Utah LDS Temple. Together they are the parents of four children.

Lowell and Peggy made their homes in the San Francisco Bay area and later Pleasant Hill, California. They have lived in Pleasant View, Utah for the past nineteen years.

He graduated in Accounting from Utah State University followed by an MBA from UC Berkeley. He associated with Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. Lowell retired as an executive at Chevron Oil. He enjoyed being a concert violinist and played for many civic organizations. Lowell was an avid hunter and fisherman. He spent many hours in his garden.

A member of the LDS Church, Lowell served as a High Priest.

Lowell is survived by his wife Peggy, sons Kevin (Brenda) Flamm, Kaysville, UT; Curtis (Larae) Flamm, Vancouver, WA; daughters Deborah Kurpjuweit (Kim), Morrow Bay, CA; and Kathryn (Russ) Howard, Roseburg, OR; 18 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; sisters Joan Longhurst and Phyllis Bahen.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Ronald, Lewis L., and Bryce Conway Flamm, and a sister Deborah.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 7, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Pleasant View LDS 11th Ward Chapel, 3602 North 500 West. Friends may visit family on Thursday October 6 from 6 – 8 p.m. at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 North Fairfield Road, and on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church in Pleasant View.

Interment, Brigham City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the LDS Church Perpetual Education Fund.
