Born November 27, 1923 in Linton, he was the son of William G. and Artie (Whitworth) Overman.
He was an electrician for Knauf Fiberglass in Shelbyville. He was a member of the American Legion and Masonic Lodge in Shelbyville. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II. S
urviving relatives include: his wife, Imogene (Brown) Overman, whom he married June 15, 1940; one daughter, Myra Wilkinson of Indianapolis; one son, Dwight Overman of Fishers; one brother, Orell Overman of Switz City; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and two sisters.
Graveside services will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday at Prairie Chapel Cemetery near Lyons with Rev. Tom Lapham officiating. Military services will be conducted by American Legion Post 196 Bloomfield. There will be no public visitation. Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home Bloomfield, Indiana is in charge of arrangements
