About Lt. Colonel Charles Alexander Neave, OBE

Charles fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1902. He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the service of the Royal Artillery. He fought in the Nandi Expedition between 1905-6. He was Lieutenant-Colonel, 3rd Battalion Somerset LI, Transport Officer-Nairobi, Asst. Director of Transport 1916, Lieutenant Royal Artillery-Boer Way (1899-1902), Nandi Expedition 1905-6, and WW1 in 1914. He was Transport Officer in 1914-Nairobi, Kenya. He was invested as an Officer, Order of the British Empire(OBE) in 1919 (The Peerage) In 1999 photographic memorabilia and 7 medals of Charles' were auctioned and realised one thousand, five hundred pounds.
