Deputy. Lieut. in 1661. He was in Major Treat's Life Guards, and Feb 1676 Lt. Fairfield Co. Troop May 1676 (King Philip's War). For his services he received a colonial grant of 100 acres Oct. 1677. Will dated 16 Sep 1695 mentions sons Samuel, Theophilus and Cornelius; daus. Rebecca Hull, Sarah wife of Robert Silliman and Martha wife of Cornelius Stratton; grandchild George, son of Cornelius. Inv. 7 Oct 1695. Cornelius served as Deputy for Fairfield to the CT General Court 11 times 1657-1677. He was Lieutenant of Major Treat's Life Guard Feb 1676, and of the Fairfield County Troop the following May, serving in King Philip's War. For his services, he received a colonial grant of 100 acres, Oct 1677. Will dated 16 Sep 1695 names sons Samuel, Theophilus and Cornelius; daughters Rebecca Hull, Sarah wife of Robert Silliman, and Martha wife of Cornelius Stratton; grandchild George, son of Cornelius.

When, in 1653, Cornelius Hull was married to the daughter of pastor Jones the town authorities of Fairfield immediately granted him a three acre town lot, to which his father added an adjoining or near by tract, containing 40 acres. Like his father he was a surveyor as well as husbandman, and early in his married life began adding to his landed estate, and was soon recognized as a man of substance and a prominent citizen. He was chosen deputy to the General Court in 1656, 1660, 1662 and 1667. In 1661 he was appointed Lieutenant for Fairfield County, and in 1675 was made Lieutenant of "The Hon. Major Treat's Life Guards," the "crack corps" of the Connecticut soldiery of that period. For service rendered in King Philip's war he was awarded a considerable tract of land.
