Lucy Tucker, b. in Pomfret, 27 March, 1778; d. 1818; m. 31 July, 1799, Dea. William Hyde Manning, of Woodstock. Conn., who died 27 June, 1862, aged 85 years, 9 ms. 17 ds., son of William Manning of the French and Revolutionary wars, and who was fifty-six years deacon of the second Baptist Church in South Woodstock, Quassett. Dea. William Manning settled in Pomfret, near his father-in-law, Ephraim Tucker, about two miles N. W. of the meetinghouse; shoemaker by trade. [2, 3]
