About Lucy Merritt
Mrs. W.B. Merritt, of this city, died at her home in the Third Ward Saturday night, of pneumonia. Mrs. Merritt had been in rather poor health all winter. She was recently taken sick with pneumonia and had been seriously ill for about two weeks, but was thought to be some better last Friday. She suffered a relapse Saturday, however and died that night at about eight o'clock. The funeral was held at 3:30 Monday afternoon, the services being conducted by Re. H.E. Norton at the First Baptist Church, and the remains were interred in the city cemetery. The deceased was a daughter of the Late Joseph Ferguson and a sister of W.I. Ferguson, of this place. She leaves a husband and five little daughters to mourn her loss.
