Lucy Wells

Lucy Meylian Wells, of Hineston, died of natural causes May 19, 2006 at 2:40 a.m.

She was born December 30, 1912 to the union of Henry Bookie Meylian and Bessie Ada Potter Meylian of Hineston. She was 93 and had been an active member of Hineston Tabernacle Church for 54 years.

Visitation will be Sunday, May 21, 2006 at the Hineston Tabernacle from 9:00 a.m. until religious services at 2:00 p.m., conducted by the Reverends Jimmy Boykin, Sonny Murphy and Harlis Meylian officiating.

Interment will be in the Fellowship Methodist Church Cemetery. She is survived by two daughters, Mary Louise and husband Loyman "Rango" Danos, Sr. of Lockport, LA and Nedra Sullivan of Dutchtown, LA; three sons, Buddy Wells of Hineston, Howard Wells and wife, Elma of Hineston and Joe Wells and wife, Patricia of Leander; one step-daughter, Lee Barney of Bossier City; and one step-son, Orion Wells and wife, Annie of Memphis, Tennessee; two sisters, Mary Golemon of Pleasant Hill and Mandy Golemon of Hineston; one brother, Otis Meylian of Hineston, fifteen grandchildren; and a host of great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Hardie "Buck" Wells; one son, Derwood Wells; one grandson, Patrick Spurgeon; and one great grandson, Rodney Wells, Jr.; three sisters, Agnes Smith, Minerva Robinson and Martha Goodwin; five brothers, George, Richard, Jim, Milford and J. B. Meylian.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great grandsons.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria.
