Luke (35), a promising young artist, was found murdered in District Six on 07/09/2005.
The body of a well-known young artist from Sea Point was found on an open piece of veld in the city. His murderer(s) are suspected of having beaten him to death elsewhere.
Luke was regarded in Cape Town's art circles as one of the country's most promising young artists.
Captain André Traut, a police spokesperson, said Human's death was still a mystery. His body was discovered on Thursday 8 September in Calvin Street, District Six.
"Human's hands and feet had been bound together with nylon rope. Judging by the injuries to his face, he was beaten to death. The police are investigating a murder case," he said.
Traut said it was suspected Human had been murdered somewhere else and that afterwards his body was thrown in the veld. "Human was last seen alive last Wednesday. He had apparently gone with friends to a pub not far from where his body was found," he said.
Gail Dorje of the Cape Gallery said Human's work can be compared with that of renowned artist, Henri Matisse. Human had recently been invited to exhibit his work in America and France.
Human's work has been bought for private art collections in Switzerland, America, France, Germany and Australia, Dorje said.
