Mrs. Lula Mae Lewis, 84, wife of Dallas W. Lewis, Smithsburg, Md., died at the Washington County Hospital at 8:30 p.m. yesterday of complications, following an illness of five weeks. She was 84 years of age.
Born near Smithsburg, she was the daughter of the lat Hanson Clay and Mary Jane (Weddle) Draper.
She was a member of the Mount Bethel United Methodist Church of Garfield, Md.
She is survived by her husband Dallas W. Lewis; daughter, Mrs. Bruce Hudseith, Halfway; son Lloyd M. Lewis, Smithsburg; brothers; Clinton Albert Draper, Canada, and Harry, Edgar and John of Smithsburg; sisters Mrs. Cleg Bowman, Mrs. Alice Wolfe, and Mrs. Bessie Kuhn all of Smithsburg: Mrs. Ella Lewis, Thurmont, Mrs. Keifer Green, Lantz, Md; Mrs. Della Webster, California, Mrs. Virgie Easton, Illinois: four grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.
The body was removed to the Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, where friends may call until 3:00 p.m. Sunday, when the body will be moved to the Mount Bethel United Methodist Church in Garfield, Md., for services by the Rev. George H. Gray at 2:00 p.m. The interment will be made in the cemetery adjoining the church.
