The Mt. Vernon Register-News, Saturday, August 28, 1948 Mrs. Lula Shores Dies at Age 67 Mrs. Lula Francis Shores of 1311 Westcott street, died at 2:15 o'clock yesterday afternoon at Jefferson County Memorial Hospital, Her age was 67 years, five months and 25 days. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:00 p. m., at Myers Chapel and burial will be in Oakwood cemetery. The services will be conducted by the Rev. Ace Summers. The body will remain at Myers Chapel, where friends may call. Mrs. Shores was born March 2, 1881 in White county, the daughter of John M. and Elizabeth (Myers) Lee. She was married to David Shores, who preceded her in death on December 24, 1947. Mrs. Shores was a member of the Christian church. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Smith, Mrs. Bertha Sledge and Mrs. Mildred Roberts, all of Mt. Vernon; two sons, John and Cyril Shores, both of Mt.
