Lydia Jane Call was born August 10, 1869, in Willard, Box Elder, Utah. She was the 8th of 11 children born to Omer Call and Sarah Maria Ferrin Call. Siblings are: Omer Samuel (1857-1930), Sally Agnes (1858-1955), Cyril Josiah (1860-1940), Fanny Manervia (1862-1863), Albert Jarius (1864-1931), Nancy Ann (1866-1881), Anson Heber (1868-1885), George William (1872-1930), Elihu (1873-1929) and Sarah Elenor (1880-1880) .She also had 11 half-siblings: Justin David (1868-1922), Mary Lucina (1869-1869), Cyrus John (1871-1885), Joseph (1872-1878), Sarah Eliza (1875-1970), Benjamin Carlos (1877-1962), Esther ( 1879-1959), William Vosco ( 1881-1957), Margaret Elenor (1883-1941), Chauncy Homer (1884-1893)and Waldemar Alma (1889-1948).
She married Samuel Albert Barrow (1865-1948) on September 26, 1888, in Logan, Cache, Utah. She was 19 years old and Samuel was 23 years old. They established their home in Rigby, Fremont (now Jefferson), Idaho and joined with other family members who had moved there to homestead land. They became the parents of 9 children, 4 daughters and 5 sons: Martha Sarah Barrow (1889-1907), Omer Samuel Barrow (1891-1972), Iva Lavaun Barrow (1892-1972), Orlean Lydia Barrow (1894-1979), Albert John Barrow (1896-1984), Orvil Elihu Barrow (1898-1983), Lella Agnes Barrow (1899-1978) Lloyd George Barrow (1901-1901) and Lowell Joseph Barrow (1903-1903). Three of their children died during the time that they lived in Idaho.
Due to health concerns for Lydia the family moved to Gridley, Butte, California, in June of 1909 where they remained for the rest of their lives. They bought a tract of thirty-eight acres in Colony 4 and Colony 9, and began improving it. They planted a twenty-acre orchard of peaches and prunes, and they also raised grain and beans. Lydia and Samuel were active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many leadership positions throughout the years.
Lydia died September 19, 1936, in Gridley, Butte, California, and was buried September 22,1936, in Gridley, Butte, California.
