Daughter of Joseph Jenks and Sarah King [2], Lydia was fourth born of the Jenks' seven known children. She was married to Levi Colvin, [son of Jeremiah, grandson of John, great-grandson of John] in Scituate, Providence Co., RI, 10 Sep 1763, Lydia was the mother of five known children: Jeremiah [12 Oct 1765], Jonathan [12 Aug 1767], Sanford G. [2 Mar 1770], Alpheus [29 Mar 1773] and Safety Colvin [19 Aug 1777]. All but the youngest were born in Rhode Island although birth dates for all were entered in Clarendon, Rutland Co., VT, records.
The Colvins removed from Rhode Island to Vermont before 1774 [when the former state's military census was taken]. Lydia's husband, Levi, served in the Clarendon Militia, attaining the rank of Ensign, during the Revolutionary War.
