Lydia Geisinger

She married John Geisinger on October 30, 1831.
The bio for their son Dr. E. J. Geisinger as printed on page 1061 of "History of Adair, Sullivan, Putnam and Schuyler Counties, Missouri." (Volume 2. Published by The Goodspeed Publishing Co, Chicago. 1888), tells us that young Dr Geisinger was "..the eighth child of the four sons and five daughters born to.." the union of his parents. All of the sons except E.J. had died by the 1888 publishing date.

Family lore states that she was a Mennonite Minister. Certainly her father being a Mennonite Minister would give her access to understanding the role a minister plays within a congregation. It is possible that she served as an unordained minister within a local church during those times when an ordained minister could not be obtained.
