Biography
NOTE: This is NOT Lydia Howland, the daughter of John Howland and his wife Mary Lee, who married Jeremiah Thomas. That Lydia is Lydia Howland Thomas. The two Lydias were cousins. In an article about the Will of Jeremiah Thomas, it is explained that an error was published in the 1885 Howland Genealogy in that the two Lydia Howlands were mixed up.[1]
Lydia was born about 1663, the daughter of Joseph Howland[2] and Elizabeth Southworth.
In Oct 1694, Lydia married Joseph Jenkins at Barnstable. The ceremony was performed by Mr. "Russel".[3][4]

Mercy Howland 15 July 1736; d. 15 Jan 1749 Lydia, b. 30 June 1705; m. Cornelius Crocker 9 Nov 1727 Benjamin, b. 30 Nov 1707; m. Mehitabel Blush 29 Oct 1730 Reliance, b. 6 April 17-9; died young Prudence, bapt. 6 April 1713; m. Samuel Baker22 Oct 1736 Hannah, bapt. 6 April 1718; m. Stephen Freeman 22 Oct 1736 Joseph Jenkins made his Will in January 1733/4, and it was proved on 8 Nov 1734. In it he mentioned his wife "Lidia." The date of Lydia's death is not know, but it was after the death of her husband.[5]
