Lydia Catherine Knott was the daughter of William Knott and Lydia Sanders, as per her Death Certificate.
On April 23, 1857 she married Jacob Skyles in Augusta County, Virginia. They were the parents of Ellen Jane (Mrs. John Henry Swecker), William Howard Kiracofe, and Sarah Catherine (Mrs. Titus Jerome Argenbright).
Jacob was a casualty of the Civil War Battle of Cedar Run that occurred on August 9, 1862.
On August 31, 1867 Lydia married William Kiracofe of Augusta County. He was the son of John Kiracofe and Susan Wooddell. He was the widower of Sarah Hisey, who had died on January 18, 1866.
