Lydia Mason

Not to be confused with Lydia Pixley Robinson, who was born 10 years later in Massachusetts. Census records for Lydia Pixley Mason consistently mention her birthplace in New York state.

1860 census lists her living in Great Barrington at age 82 as a widow with the family of her grandson Samuel D. Stanton; her daughter and son-in-law lived next door. Lydia is listed as never having learned to read or write.
