Lydia Firestone McCall

Lydia Firestone McCall, 80, of Patterson Township, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, Dec. 27, 1996, in The Medical Center, Beaver.

She was born March 5,1916, in Connellsville, Pa., a daughter of the late Austin and Mary Firestone. Together with her husband she assisted with the daily operation of McCall Press. She was a member of the Berachah Chapel, Darlington, a past president of Beaver County Council of the P.T.A., had been on the Mayor’s Advisory Council, was a member of the Poetry Society of Beaver County, had been associated with the Avon Corporation for 20 years, and had been a licensed pilot. She was also the best mother and grandmother in the world.

Surviving are her husband, David L. McCall; two sons and a daughter-in-law, David William "Bill" and Ann McCall, Daugherty Township, and Richard McCall, Patterson Township; a daughter and son-in-law, Jodi and Ken Feyka, Patterson Township and also a son-in-law, John "Jack" Lindsay, Chippewa Township; five grandchildren, Paula Lindsay Alexander, Whitehall, Pa; Debra Lindsay, Chippewa; Cheryl McCall Hodgson, New Brighton; Kevin McCall, Daugherty Township, and Lori Feyka, Patterson Township; two great-grandsons, Justin and Jacob Hodgson, and two great-granddaughters, Rebekah Lindsay and Katherine Lydia Lindsay.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen McCall Lindsay, in 1986; four brothers, and five sisters.

Friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the LUTTON CHIPPEWA FUNERAL HOME, 117 Blackhawk Road, where a service will be conducted Tuesday at 1 p.m. The Rev. Jerry Pia, former pastor of Berachah Chapel, will officiate.

Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Big Beaver Boro.
