About Lydia Soule
Lydia Soule and her husband, Solomon, were partners in a Washington Donation Land Claim of about 160 acres apiece. For a total of 326.21 acres calculated by survey done after the transaction had been completed. They had come form Maine with their children for this free land. Maybe not so free if it is true that they had to pay $1.25 per acres after the end of 1853.
Lydia had given birth to at lease eight children, Samuel Gage, Lucy, Elizabeth, Charles, Santfield, Anrietta, Edwin A. and Frederick Soule. (Information from Martin Burrell (#46932334)
