Lynn A. Roe, 70 ROCKTON - Lynn A. Roe, 70, of Rockton departed from us on Sunday, Dec. 26, 1999, in Rockford Memorial Hospital, after having enjoyed a family dinner with Mary Jane (his beloved wife of 47 years), eight of his children, their spouses and 15 grandchildren. Born April 4, 1929, in Machias, Wash., the son of Ole and Vernel Thomas Roe. He was a 20-year career veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving as an electrical instructor for airplanes. He retired as a master sergeant in 1967, after a long adventurous career. Lynn met his wife, Mary Jane Moody, while on leave with a friend who lived in the area. They were married in August 1952 in Shirland. Lynn was a Jehovah's Witness and enjoyed speaking with people about the Bible. He loved traveling across the United States, visiting numerous relatives and friends and working on cars. Survivors include wife, Mary Jane 10 children, Lash (Vicki) Roe of Jacumba, Calif., Ted (Cheryl) Roe of Canyon Lake, Texas, Eric (Cindy) Roe and Ken Roe, both of Durand, Dana (Tonna) Roe of Torrington, Wyo., Rebecca (Duane) Arndt of Durand, Marcella (Marty) Anderson of Roscoe, Juanita (Bill) Schelm of Shirland, Serena (Tim) Miller of Rockton and Melissa (Todd) Drury of Morrison 24 grandchildren, MariLyn, Faith, Racheal, Aimee, Jaimee (Jason) Krell, Cody, Crystal, Dakota, Andrea, Neil, Leanne, Valerie, Bobby, Stephanie, Stacy, Chad, Brittianny, Michael, Martin, Maximilian, Kara, Cordell, Aaron and Dylan sisters, Kathleen Kendall and Beatrice Rogers of Washington numerous nieces and nephews and special daughter-in-law, Sue Hollander. Predeceased by parents and grandson, Kyle James Roe.

Services at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, in Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, Wis., with Elder Dave Archer officiating. Burial in Shirland Cemetery.
