Mary was raised on a farm at Berwick, Illinois. She married at 16 years and farmed for 6 years with her husband, before moving to Winnipeg in April 1879 to join her husband, who had moved there in 1878 and rented his farm.

The 1901 Census for Winnipeg, Manitoba shows a Eunice Fairchild, Head, born 13 Nov 1854, 46, Born in USA, Immigrated in 1878; Nettie E., Daughter, Born 21 Nov 1874, 26; Mary B., Daughter, born 4 Sep 1876, 24; Lyle,, Daughter, born 23 Mar 1881, 20; Charles N., Son, Born 9 jun 1883, 17.

The 1910 US Census for Monmouth, Warren County, Illinois, shows Ida Fairchild, 55, as head of household, Widow; mother of 6 children with 5 living; living with her son Charles N., 25, and her mother, Phoebe A. Baldwin, Widow, 83, mother of 12 children with 7 living.

On 6 Sep 1930 she arrived in Montreal, QC, on the vessel Andania, from Belfast, Northern Ireland; destination, Brantford, ON; Age 75.

She was buried at Farrington Cemetery, Brantford, ON, Section I, III, V, in Aug 1947, with her son, Charles N. Fairchild - Canada Find A Grave.

In the 1920 US Census for Union Village, New York, Broome County, Ida Fairchild is a boarder with Harry M. Brown, caretaker and Maud Brown, housekeeper; she is 64; Widow; born in Illinois; her father was born in Rhode Island and her mother was born in New York.

In the 1930 US Census for Endicott, New York, Broome County, Ida M. Fairchild is living with Harry M. Brown, 47, his wife; Maud D., 47, born in New York, her father born in New York, her mother born in Illinois; and niece, Ena D., 9; Ida is his Mother-in-Law, 74, Widow, born in Illinois, father and mother both born in New York

Lewis (1799-1868), m. 1823, Mary Ann Mills (1806-92). 3. Thomas Lewis (1765-1831), m. 1789, Susanna McCoy (1772-1821); Jedediah Mills, Jr. (1779-1870), m. 1801, Phebe Gable (1782-1872). 4. Gavin McCoy, m. Susanna Kinman (1740-1807); Jedediah Mills, m. 1st, 1764, Sarah Roberts (1746-84). Gavin McCoy (1738-1800) commanded a company in the Somerset County, New Jersey militia, throughout the war. He died in Basking Ridge, N. J. Jedediah Mills (1744-1820) served as private in Capt. Cyrus De Hart's company, Col. Elias Dayton's regiment, New Jersey troops. He was born in Morris County; died in New Vernon, NJ. Also No. 19124.
