Matt Phillips,71, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs.Rona Bunch, Clinton, at 1:30 p.m. Monday, June 26.

He is survived by 3 sons, Harvey Phillips, Rt.2, Clinton, Jesse Phillips, Briceville, and Eli Phillips, Oliver Springs, and 5 daughters, Mrs. Rona Bunch, Clinton, Mrs. Amos Carroll, Briceville, Mrs. Lue Patterson, Frost Bottom, Mrs. Ivan Steward, Knoxville, and Miss Rosella Phillips, Clinton.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Clinch River Baptist Church with the Rev.I.C. Phillips officiating. Burial was in the Church cemetery with Martin Funeral Home of Clinton in charge.
