Maedra Morningstar

Morningstar, Maedra (Rowley), D: 20 Nov., 1970 B: 1 Oct. 1895 Mrs. Maedra Morningstar, 75, passed away unexpectedly Friday morning at her residence at 273 N. State Street, Shelby. She was born Oct. 1, 1895 in Shelby, the daughter of Robert and Maggie Rowley. On April 22, 1914 she was married to Lee Morningstar and to this union was born one son, Max, who was stricken and died during his first year at college. Maedra was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Shelby Chapter No. 229, and of the Congregational Women's Fellowship. She had resided in Shelby most of her life, leaving only for short periods when her husband was employed on the West Coast and when she visited with the Gregory family in Fremont, Calif. Services were held, Monday from the Cooper-Harris Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronald A. Houk, officiating. Interment was made in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Surviving besides a host of friends are several nieces and nephews.
