Fake Genealogy
According to Burke's Landed Gentry of Scotland (2001), it was Magdalen Burd, here treated, who married John Hunter, of Crichton Dean & East Gordon at Edinburgh on 19 December 1716. BLGS 2001 This does not seem possible, however, because Magdalen Burd, here treated, was only twelve years old on this date, her baptism having been registered at Bo'ness in West Lothian on 1 February 1704.
Magdalen Burd, here treated, is the daughter of Captain Edward Burd of Foord, younger and his wife Elizabeth Hunter She was born on 7 January 1704 and her baptism was registered on 1 February 1704, at Borrowstoness in West Lothian, Scotland. Her baptismal record reads as follows: "Magdalen Burd daughter to Edward Burd and Elizabeth Hunter born the 7th Jary and baptized the first of febry 1704 Witnesses John Hunter and James Cassils shio masters in borrowsts."
