Magdalena Pietersdr Douw

The 1697 census for the Colony of Rensselaerswyck shows the Jonas Douw and Catrina Van Witbeek household as having one man, one woman and five children. The baptism records of Albany show that Catrina had at least 2 children with her previous husband Jacob, and so one or two of the children in the census are probably Catrina's.

By Dorethe Folkersz. 1687 12 Jan Folkert, of Jonas Folkensz. Wit.: Henderik Oothout. By Lysbet Pietersz. 1689 01 Sep Dorethee, of Jonas Folkersz. Wit.: father, Albert Rykman. By Caatje H. Oothout. 1692 08 May Pieter, of Jonas Folkertsz and Magdalena Quackelbosch. Wit.: Andries Folkertsz, Nelletje Rykman.  Dorratje appears to have died young as she doesn't appear in any other records. There is a Dorothe Douw that married a John Nieuwkerk of Kingston in 1719 in the records of Albany but, not only was he baptized in 1690 making the dates awkward, all of her children born in Kingston were given names that relate to the family of Henderik Volkerts Douw and Neeltje van Iveren, who baptized a Dorathea in 1701, and John's parents Arien Gerritsen Nieuwkirk and Lysbet Brink: Adriaan, Elisabeth, Gerrit, Meyndert, Neeltjen and Hendericus. 

No further records could be found for Marietje either. Volkert's death is recorded in the family bible and it does not appear that he married before he died.
