GEDCOM Note

BIOGRAPHY: Vernon Leopold [verpold@adelphia.net]

I am a great-great grandson of Manus Eichenberg, born 1792 and Hanna, geb. Heilbrunn, born1800; great-grandson of Juda Eichenberg and Johanna, geb. David; grandson of David Eichenberg and son of Erna' geb. Eichenberg and Joachim Juda Leopold. I don't know the name ofManus' father; however the name of his spouse, my great-great-great grandmother, was Goldchen.Manus and Juda died in Reichensachsen. I have a photo of Manus' headstone which dates his death to 1878. My grandfather David E. had moved to Frankfurt, where he married Ida, geb. Hahn and there became partner of his brother Moritz's in a men's clothing manufacturing company on Kaiserstrasse. He died in Fankfurt in November 1935. (My grandmother Ida was a daughter of Regina Hahn re-md Epstein, geb. Bamberger) David and Ida had six children: Julian, Water Karl, Alice.md. Ruhr, Meta, md. Koopmann and Erna, md. Leopold, my mother. Thanks to research by and materials left to me by deceased uncle Walter Eichenberg, I have a photostat of an excerpt dated 1823 "Aus Dem Staatsarchiv in Marburg a.L". This contains an inventory of all Reichensachsen Jews of November 1823 assembled by the Kreisamt Eschwege. Predicated on the information contained therein I sketched a family tree of the Manus Eichenberg family branch.Manus and Hanna had 6 children: Moritz, David (my grandfather), Charlie, Goldine, md Schwarz, Berta, md Elias and Sara, md Steinhardt. Sara Steinhardt'son Max had two children, Marga md.Griesbach who now lives in Silverdale, WA. Charlie E. reportedly had three sons, Eugene Stone, renamed and resettled in Tonawanda, NY, Arthur Elmer, renamed and resettled in Toledo, OH and Walter E. Walter, reportedly had two children, adaughter Susan and a son, name unknown to meManus also had a bother named Jakob Eichenberg, born 1790, also of Reichensachsen. Jakob and his spouse Giedel, geb.Heilbronn had three children: Sara, born 1817; Veilchen, born 1819 and Moses, born 1821.Please let me hear from you; I will be more than happy to fax copies of the documents to you.Sincerely,Vernon
