    • "Major, United States Army, World War II and Korean War veteran
    • "Enlisted, October 18, 1938, in Troop K, 101st Cavalry Regiment, NYNG, at the Madison Avenue Armory, New York City. January 27, 1941, he was federalized, as a sergeant, with the 101st Cavalry. The call up was to be for one year.
    • "The regiment was assigned to Fort Devens, MA, for training. In the fall of 1941, the 101st Cavalry took part in the Carolina maneuvers. On the return convoy back to Fort Devens, December 7, 1941, pearl Harbor was attacked, and no one was going home in a year.
    • "In early 1942 he attended the Cavalry OCS, at Fort Riley, KS, and appointed a 2nd Lieutenant August 28, 1942. It is unknown at this time where he served during World War 2, but he was discharged, January 11, 1946.
    • "Korean War, he was recalled to duty January 2, 1951, and assigned as the commander of Company A, 31st Infantry, 7th Infantry Division. He was seriously wounded in action, near Mundung-ni, Korea, November 27, 1951. For his actions on November 9, 1951, he was awarded the Silver Star.
