His father, Adam Meek (LY84-8SL) and mother, Jane (Jean) Mitchell (LKGQ-6B6) AND on ancestry.com: Search, Public Member Trees, Adam Meek, have different dates, childrens' names. etc so I did not add them to Major Adam Meek (Renee Query 13 December 2019)

"He married Nancy Agnes Byers (daughter of Capt. William Byers and Elizabeth Walton) before 1787. Nancy Agnes Byers was born in 1763 in York Co., SC. They had the following children:

Adam served in the Revolutionary War. He enlisted in the 2nd Regiment on 11.4.1775 and re-enlisted on 11.1.1779. In 1779, he was under Capt. Richard Baker. After the fall of Charleston, he became a lieutenant in the militia under Col. Braton and was also in the light dragoons under Lt. Col. Wade Hampton. He was in the battles at Briar Creek, Rocky Mount, Hanging Rock, Fishing Creek, Fish Dam Ford, Blackstock's Plantation, Biggin Church adn Eutaw Springs."
