About Major Gen.James Cavan Berkeley
Served in India and was Resident of Gwalior in 1883. He married Anna Sophia and had three children, one of which was Lily who carried on the family to Marjorie Atkinson Longridge (married Stucley Lucas O'Neill). Anna Sophia died in 1886. He subsequently married his second wife Maud Tomlinson on 21.01.1892. They had three children. Maud is the subject of the book Adapted by Flora Frazer entitled Maud, the diaries of Maud Berkeley published in 1985.
James Cavan Berkeley died in 1926.
