About Maraea Wrathall
Stephen Lupton Wrathall landed at Taipa in 1831, one of the first group of sawyers who established the timber industry in the Mangonui area. Fifteen years old, intelligent and ambitious, he quickly befriended the local Maori, and eventually married Maraea Te Inutoto from, Waimate North. Together they raised 13 children.

- 03-Oct-17 Rob McMillan, Wellington. A reply to John Cooper in Devonport: My mother-in-law is also a direct descendant of Marae Te Inototo - it appears Marae was not captured as her father attended her wedding in Mangonui and the wedding established a peace between Nga Puhi and 'a large southern tribe of Tauranga'. Given what was happening at the time, I think there is a good chance Marae was Te Arawa descent, Ngati Whakaue perhaps but very hard to confirm. http://communities.co.nz/ngatikahu/VisitorBook.cfm
