ADDURU, Marcelo
Assemblyman from the First District of Cagayan; Lawyer, Agriculturist, Businessman. Born in Tuguegarao, Cagayan, June 18, 1894, he began his studies in the schools of his town. In 1909 he transferred to Cagayan High School; in 1912 he entered the College of Forestry of the College of Agriculture of the University of the Philippines in Los Baños. In 1915, he attended the Vigan High School and graduated in 1916. He enrolled in the College of Liberal Arts, University of the Philippines, and later took up law, graduating in 1923. He received the degree of Bachelor of Arts. He held these public positions: "Botanico auxiliar," 1912 to 1921; Captain of the National Guard from 1918 to 1919; Commercial agent and supervising agent of the Bureau of Commerce and Industry. He was elected Assemblyman from Cagayan in 1935.

Born in Tuguegarao, Cagayan, June 18, 1894; educated in the public schools of his home province, after which he came to Manila and enroled in the University of the Philippines, where he graduated in forestry at Los Baños in 1915; obtained his A.B. degree from the college of liberal arts, in 1918, and his LL.B. degree from the college of law, same university, in 1923. He was assistant botanist in the Bureau of Science, 1917-21; captain of infantry in the Philippine National Guard, 1918-19; commercial agent and then supervising agent in the Bureau of Commerce and Industry, 1921-23; Representative to the Philippine Legislature from the first district of Cagayan, 1931-34; elected Delegate to the Constitutional Convention from the same district, July 10, 1934; elected Assemblyman, September 17, 1934; and commissioned as Major of Infantry in the Philippine Army, December 28, 1936. He has the distinction of being the first ranger to become a member of the House of Representatives.
