Margaret Gibbs b. July 3, 1699; died Jan 17, 1771. Married 1719/20, Nathaniel Appleton, D.D. of Cambridge, Mass., and had six children. (see Farmer.)

- This painting (Freake-Gibbs Painter: Portrait of Henry Gibbs) remained in the donor's family for three centuries. Henry Gibbs' daughter, Margaret, married Rev. Nathaniel Appleton. The painting remained with five generations of Appletons, a respected and historical Boston family.(2)
