About Margaret Cochran

GRANDDAUGHTER OF REVOLUTIONARY WAR CAPTAIN JOHN GEORGE OVERMIRE

AUNT OF LEVI OVERMIRE

A BIOGRAPHY OF MARGARET OVERMIRE COCHRAN, by Larry Overmire (4th great nephew), Sept. 2008:

Margaret Overmire was born about 1802 in Northumberland Co., PA, the second youngest child of George (III) and Mary (Rearick) Overmire.

On Mar. 28, 1822, she married Peter Cochran (not Enos Cochran as reported in the 1905 Overmyer genealogy), son of Robert and Elizabeth (Patterson) Cochran. They had at least two children: Peter and Jacob.

Margaret's husband died in 1836. In 1850, she was living with her son Peter. David and Elizabeth (Hartnet) Overmier were neighbors.

Margaret died in Perry Co., but we don't know when. Her burial location is also unknown.
