About Margaret Drummond

Margaret Drummond was born circa 1670 at Accomack County, VA. She was the daughter of Capt. John Drummond (Quaker) (c 1637-1713/1714) and Patience Hill (c 1649-1713).

Margaret Drummond had 2 marriages. Her 1st husband was Edmund Allen (1654-1711) and they were married circa 1690. Edmund was the son of John Allen & Margaret Allen (maiden name not known).

As of 1690, her married name was Allen.

Margaret and Edmund Allen had 6 children: Edmund Allen (c 1690-1768); Stephen Allen (c 1692-1751); Patience Allen (c 1695-1744); James Allen (b ca 1697); John Allen (b ca 1699) and Margaret Allen (b ca 1701).

After Edmund Allen died in October, 1711; Margaret married Henry Bagwell (ca 1668-1734) in 1711.

As of October 2, 1711, her married name was Bagwell.

Margaret and Henry Bagwell had 4 children: William Bagwell (ca 1712-1734); Thomas Bagwell (ca 1714-1764); Tabitha Bagwell (ca 1716-1766) and Ann Bagwell (ca 1718-1762).

Margaret was named in her father's will on October 10, 1713 at Accomack County, VA. She was shown as Margaret Bagwell, in the will of John Drummond.

She was named in the will of her step-son on March 1, 1734/35 at Accomack County, VA. She was shown as my mother-in-law (step-mother) Margaret Bagwell in the will of Henry Bagwell, wife Sabra.

Margaret was named Administrator of an estate on October 2, 1711 at Accomack County, VA. It was on this date that administration of the estate of Edmund Allen was granted to his wife, Margaret Allen with James Drummond, son Hill Drummond.
