About Margaret E. Gleason

Mrs. Margaret Gleason, 2601 Chestnut street, died at 5:20 o'clock Wednesday morning. She had been ill for five months. Mrs. Monckton was born in Brown county Illinois on November 1, 1861, and was nearly 64 years old. She was the daughter of Timothy and Johanna (Doheny) Gleason, natives of Ireland.

On September 4, 1889, she was married to John Monckton, who survives. They had lived in Quincy for thirty years.

Surviving are three daughters: Mrs. William Clapp of Downers Grove Illinois; Bertha Hood of this city; and Miss Margaret Monckton at home; and four sons: Frank, Charles, Leo, and James Monckton, all of Quincy. There are eleven grandchildren.

Mrs. Monckton was a member of St. Rose of Lima church and of the Third Order of St. Francis.

The will of Mrs. Margaret Monckton, which has been filed in the county clerk's office, leaves all her real estate to her son Leo Monckton.

To Margaret, Bertha, and James Monckton, sons and daughters, she gives $100 each; and to another son, Charles, $ 200. Mary * Clappe and Frank Monckton, son and daughter, all goods and chattels of deceased are bequeathed.

St. Rose of Lima church is given $ 50 for the saying of masses for the repose of her soul.

The remainder of her property, she leaves to Leo Monckton, who is also named executor. The will is dated May 11, 1925.
