vii.   MARGARET RHEA, b. 01 Jan 1721/22, Fahan Parrish, Co. Donegal, Ireland; d. 01 Jan 1803, Kingsport, Sullivan Co., TN; m. (1) JR. ROBERT LOONEY, Abt. 1743, Augusta VA; b. 01 Jan 1720/21, Isle of Mann, Ireland; d. 01 Feb 1756, Sullivan Co., TN; m. (2) STEPHEN RENTFRO, Abt. 1763; b. 1. Margaret's marriage to Robert Looney is mentioned in Leroy W. Tilton's book "Early Looneys to America" Margaret was in PA, then in August Co. VA before she and her family moved about to Tennessee near Kingsport in Sullivan Co. It is in this area where her husband Robert was killed by Indians in 1756. Her whole family was there by at least 1777. It is here in East TN that her brother Rev. Joseph Rhea's children and a number of her Rhea cousins also established themselves. (1)
  2. Per Miss Elizabeth Looney: Robert Looney was "Killed Feb. 15, 1756 on Looney's Creek, Augusta (now Botetourt) Co., VA. By Shawnee Indians."
  3. From here the families become complicated, as Stephen Renfro, a widower, married the widow of Robert Looney, Jr. and took her sons John, Moses and the other children west, finally settling in Knox County, Tennessee where Stephen Renfro's will is located. Stephen lost a son, Stephen, Jr. at Red River.(3)
