About Margaret Courtenay Ralston
Margaret's father, John Walker, was 4th state treasurer of Missouri, b. 1772 in Virginia, d. 1838 in Missouri. I am still looking for his burial place, and although he is probably in Latham Cem. with his wife and daughter I have not seen any documentation of that. Her mother, Sallie Caffery Walker, is also buried at Latham Cem. although she is not listed in the cemetery list. I found that information in a book (Historical Southern Families, vol. XX.) I will be adding a memorial for her shortly, and will post an edit on this page to link to it. She was the daughter of Capt. John and Mary Donelson Caffery, of the Donelson Expedition that helped settle Nashville, TN. Col. John Donelson was Mary Caffery's father, and Rachel Donelson Robeson Jackson, wife of Pres. Andrew Jackson, was her youngest sister.
