Mrs Margaret Bruce (Carter) Stuart, forty-five years old, wife of former Governor of Virginia, Henry Carter Stuart, died late Wednesday afternoon, May 26, 1920, at her home in Brookline, Mass, following an illness extending, intermittently, over eighteen years. Mr Stuart was on his way to Washington from Elk Garden, his home near Abingdon, Virginia, when he received the message at Bluefield, W Va, and left immediately for Brookline. Mrs Stuart was the daughter of Mrs Mary Fulton Carter and the late Creed Carter, of Saltville, in Smyth county, Va, where she was born and is survived by her husband and one daughter, Miss Mary Fulton Stuart.
