About Margret Monaghan
GEDCOM Note
On Clinton County, Iowa's GenWeb page, biographies of Waterford township residents, B.J. Monahan engaged in mercantile business in Charlotte with his brother. It was called Monahan Bros. They were dealers in agricultural implements. He was born near Ottawa, November 5, 1844 and emigrated to Charlotte with his parents in 1855. He was Catholic and Republican and married Mary Goodall. Their children's names were Arthur, Bartholomew, Martha and John. According to the biographies, B.J. and his brother (unnamed) were very successful businessmen in Charlotte. Their store was two stories tall! I think that B.J. Monahan is related to Margaret because she emigrated from Canada at the same time as B.J. did and ended up near Charlotte, in Waterford.
