Mrs. John Baird Dead – The death occurred last Friday of Mrs. John Baird, a highly respected resident of the district. She died at the home of Mrs. P. A. Byrne with whom she had been living for the past few months. Deceased, who was in her 91st year, was formerly Miss Maria Hamilton, daughter of the late William Hamilton and his wife Mary Ann Hodgins. She married John Baird, of the 10th line of Fitzroy and resided there until her husband’s death in 1914. Since that time she had lived in Carp and vicinity. She was a member of the Anglican Church and professed to have been converted by the Salvation Army some years ago. The late Mrs. Baird leaves to mourn her loss one brother, Benjamin Hamilton, of Flint, Mich., and a niece, Miss A. Schurr of Swift Current, Sask. The funeral was held on Saturday afternoon to St. James’ Anglican Church, Carp, where service was conducted by Rev. J. C. Anderson and interment made in the family plot of the United Church cemetery, Stittsville. The pallbearers were Messrs. T. B. Carruthers, James Campbell, Arthur Baird, W. E. Baird, Geo. N.
