Father is assumed to be Andries Hendrik du Preez b. 1797 because:
- A witness at a few of her children’s baptisms were Hester Agnesina du Preez who also married a Hartman and is the daughter of Andries Hendrik du Preez and therefore proposed to be her sister
- Two of her sons were named Stephanus Johannes Hartman and Marthinus Jacobus Hartman and she also has two proposed brothers with the same names
