She was born 8 August 1828 in Braak, District of Eutin, near Hamburg, Germany, and brought her age to 75 years, 9 months and 25 days. After she had graduated from the schools of her home town., she was a good support to her parents, until in 1856 when married Mr. John Bocoly, here late husband, who died 15 February 1887. In 1857 they emigrated to American and settled initially in Pittsburgh, where they spent two years. (1900 census shows they immigrated in 1854) ( Their first child was born in PA in 1857). When Tell City was called to life, they came here with the first settlers and settled on a farm near town, where they through diligence and hard work worked themselves up more and more and brought themselves to prosperity. The marriage was blessed with two sons and two daughters. Of these Pater and John Bocoly and a daughter, Mrs. Chas. After her husband died, she ran her farm several years yet with her children, and moved to town, where she lived until her death, in recent years yet with her daughter, Mrs. Henry Dusch. She was a thrift, hard working German woman liked and popular everywhere. On Monday afternoon her remains were taken to the city cemetery, after Pastor Schlundt from the German Evangelical Church conducted a funeral service in the house of mourning, and in the presence of many grief bearers, buried their final rest.
