About Maria Kent
(From a longer bio on Marvin Kent)
On December 24, 1840. was solemnized the marriage of Mr. Kent to Miss Maria Stewart, daughter of Colonel William Stewart, of Franklin, Portage county. She was born at Franklin on August 25. 1821. and her death occurred on May 22. 1900. She was a woman of gentle refinement and gracious presence, and her memory is revered by all who came within the sphere of her influence. She was long prominent in the social life of the community which represented her home for so long a term of years.
Mr. and Mrs. Kent became the parents of two children,
— Henry L., who died in 1873, leaving a widow and two children, and
William S., who is president of the Kent National Bank of Kent, in which office he succeeded his father.
