Note: EWZ50 G024, Frame #2646 says she was born in Schoenhorst. J014, Frame #142 says Neuhorst. The Fuerstenland Baptism Register gives her birth date as 13 Feb 1869. The EWZ records give her birth date as 20 Feb 1870. According to Peter Wiebe #385727 Maria was the daughter of Peter Wiebe #197653 and his first wife Katharina Loewen. However, since Katharina Loewen died about 1856 and Peter Wiebe 197653 married Katharina Wiebe about a year later, it seems likely that Maria 199162 who was born in 1869 or 1870 was a child of the second marriage. EWZ E083, Frame #242 calls her mother Katharina Klassen but this is likely an error.
Maria began married life in Schoenhorst, and then moved to Michaelsburg, Chortitza where she had been born (Leona Gislason).
