Maria aka Mariah Goodenough was born 3 May 1818 in New York State. She married William A May in Lottsville, Pennsylvania, in 1844. William A. May was born abt 1814 in England. Maria died on 21 May 1889 in Frrehold Twp, Warren County, PA. Maria and William May had eight children: Eliza, Samuel, Isora(e) Henrietta, George W, Millard W, Lovina aka Lorinda, Marilla, and William M. Daughter Isora Henrietta married William Franklin Engle and is buried with her husband in the Bear Lake Cemetery which is located about four miles from the Pine Valley Cemetery. William and Maria appear to have separated later in life. More research is needed to determine what happened to spouse William.
