About Marie Hirschler (Hirsch)

cf. Standesamt Wien-Währing, Evangelischer Oberkirchenrat Wien, Wiener Stadt- & Landesarchiv, Österreichischer Staatsarchiv etc. and family sources plus ...:

Marriage on 22 July 1906, aged 32, in Wien. Her address at the time is noted as: Wien IX, Liechtensteinstrasse 46. • N.B. joint marriage of both brothers, Paul & Wilhelm HIRSCHLER. Maybe wives were good girlfriends?

Marie Hirschler died in 1961. Place of burial as yet unknown. • This fact courtesy of Dr. Dieter J. Hecht in his article: "Spuren & Boten: Die Kunsthandlung E.Hirschler & Comp.", based on information provided to him from former Meldeamt(Citizens Registry Bureau) files now held by the Wiener Stadt & Landesarchiv. (Death).

Lisl Walk saw her briefly again as well on a visit to Vienna in 1947. She also remembers that "Tante Marie" had a sister who ran a sweet-shop in Vienna before 1938 ... • cf. Lisl Walk in her mini-memoir completed 2004: "Tante Marie (and her husband Paul) had no children and she was very fond of children - so it was that sometimes I went to her for lunch and tea and it invariably was a great big Kalbsschnitzel cooked in butter on the menu. The Schnitzel had to be thin and really big, quite filling the frying pan. Aunt Marie never ate any lunch, perhaps she had her big meal in the evening with Uncle Paul. Tante Marie" had a sister who kept a sweets shop (in Vienna). We would go there some afternoons. The ladies would chat in the back room while I inspected the sweets.".

(Jan. 2013) And a little detaill courtesy of Elisabeth, née Guth: "My godmother, Tante Marie, was Marie Hirschler & I remember meeting her in Vienna ... "
