Marie Vander Maten

Marie Vander Maten April 5, 1908— November 23 1998

Marie Vander Maten, 90, of Orange City died on Monday, November 23, at the Long-Term-Care Facility at Orange City Municipal Hospital.

Services were on Wednesday at First Reformed Church in Orange City, with the Rev. Steven Vander Molen officiating. Burial was at West Lawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Vander Maten was born on April 5, 1908, in Orange City, the daughter of John and Gertrude (Reekers) Ter Horst. She was raised in Orange City.

She married William Vander Maten on January 8, 1930, in Orange City. The couple farmed near Boyden. He died on March 16. 1930, at Boyden.

She returned to the Ter Horst farm near Orange City. In 1944, she moved with her family into Orange City. In 1991, she entered the Long-Term-Care Facility.

Survivors include two nephews and three nieces.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Wilmina Ter Horst; three brothers, William, John and Gerrit Ter Horst, and a nephew.
