Marion Dale Moore

Marion Dale Moore, 62, Marion, died on Monday, September 20, 2010.
He was born in Marion to Marion E. and Bonnie J. (Weston) Moore on May 5, 1948.
He worked for American Malleable for 18 years before it closed as a tool and die maker and then for Marion Steel, now Nu Cor Steel, for almost 18 years as a Maintenance Machinist. He had been an avid bowler until knee surgeries ended his ability to bowl. He and his brother had a pro shop (BigT Proshop) in the early 80's where they would fit and drill bowling balls as well as sell accessories.
One of his greatest joys was to spoil his grandkids. He was a loving husband of nearly 28 years to his wife, Sharon, and enjoyed camping and spending time at Dogwood Valley Campgrounds in Mt. Gilead. He was also a member of Manna Ministries House of Prayer a non denominational church.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Ann Moore; mother, Bonnie J. (Weston) Moore; step son, Troy (Tammy) James; grandchildren, Kayla Davis, Jessie Davis and Elizabeth James. He was exceptionally proud and devoted to his niece who he loved as a daughter, Misty Heery, and Misty's daughter, Ashley Martin, who he loved as his first granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his father, Marion (Sye) Moore; baby sister, Julie Moore; and brother, Jeff (Fat Daddy) Moore.
Friends may call from 3 - 7 p.m. on Sunday, September 26, 2010 at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors. A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 27, 2010 in the funeral home with Bishop Tom Beckel officiant. Burial will follow the service in Marion Cemetery.
