About Marion Agnes Sahmaunt

ELGIN Funeral for Marion Agnes Ahdosy Sahmaunt, 78, Elgin, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Church of God, Anadarko, 1117 Lavaugn St., with Pastor Steve Palczynsky officiating.

Burial will follow at Otipoby Cemetery under direction of Comanche Nation Funeral Home, Lawton. Marion Agnes Ahdosy Sahmaunt went to her heavenly home with her family by her side on Monday, Oct. 31, 2011, at her home.

Prayer service will be at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

She was born Sept. 28, 1933, in Lawton, to Clara Saupitty and Richard Ahdosy. She was a retired LPN. Her hobbies included reading, watching game shows, and sports, which included her beloved Texas Rangers and Oklahoma City Thunder.

In her younger years she was an All-Star softball pitcher. She was inducted into the Women's Indian Softball Hall of Fame in 2005.

She was a member of the Cedar Hill Church of God in Anadarko and a member of the [

Comanche Nation].

She is survived by Spencer "Corky" Sahmaunt; four daughters: Karen Ann Sahmaunt, of Portland, Ore.; Mari Frances Sahmaunt and companion, Ricky Eaves, of Cache; Patricia Fern Unap and husband, Douglas Unap, of Anadarko; and Rebecca Sahmaunt and husband, Vernon Clouse Ahtone, of Elgin; sister, LaRue Kaywaykla Parker, of Cache; five grandchildren: Carlton James "CJ" Ahtone, Kristen "Sissy" Ahtone, Travis Guerue, Daniel Sahmaunt and Chloe Ahtone; great-grandchildren: Trinity Ahtone, Connor Ahtone, Treyten Ramirez and Izayah Ramirez; cousins: Eddie Wayne Ahdosy, of Cache; Barbara Aspermy, Richard Sapcutt, Patricia Whitewolf, Mary Sapcutt, Vincent Sapcutt, Sharon Enriquez and Kenneth Sapcutt; aunt, Vivian Gooday; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Ahdosy and Clara Saupitty Kaywaykla; grandparents, Tom and Niki Saupitty; brothers and sister: Lewis J. Wahahrockah, James Mondero Kaywaykla, Dorothy Hummingbird and William Kaywaykla; aunt, Marie Tonips; uncles: Larry Saupitty, Carney Saupitty, Stanford Saupitty, Floyd Saupitty, Raymond Saupitty, Dan Saupitty, Mead Chibitty and Norene Saupitty Chibitty.
