Marion Elizabeth Paylor Terry Perry, age 81, of Joppa, MD, died on March 25, 2009 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD.

Born in Roxboro, NC, she was the daughter of the late Kellie Eugene and Lillian Estelle Bailey Paylor. She was married to Robert Grant Terry from January 1, 1948 until his death in November 1974. On July 1, 1978, she married Roy William Perry and they remained devoted until his death in January 2004.

She graduated from Hardbarger's Business School in Raleigh, NC and began her career with Duke Hospital in Durham, NC. When the VA Hospital opened in Durham in 1952, she began working there. She was an administrative secretary to the Chief of Psychiatry for many years, and later worked as the executive secretary to the hospital's Chief of Staff. She retired in 1985.

Mrs. Perry is survived by her son, Robert G. Terry Jr. of Joppa, MD; step-daughters, Mary Perry Smith of Madison, NC and Ann Perry Durham of Durham, NC; brother, Charles T. Paylor of Roxboro, NC; four step-grandchildren, Kris Smith Easter, Brandy Barnes Broadway, and Tabatha J. Smith, all of North Carolina, and Perry D. Smith of New York City; and six step-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her niece, Sherry B. Paylor of Winston-Salem, NC, and two nephews, Kelly E. Paylor III of Raleigh, NC and Austin D. Paylor of Danville, VA.

In addition to her parents and husbands she was predeceased by a brother, Kelly E. Paylor Jr.
