  • Robert Shafto, baptised 13 January 1631; died as an infant
  • Jane Shafto, baptised 11 April 1633; married 10 January 1652 at St. John's Newcastle, William Strother of Fowberry, Northumberland

Mark Shafto, Esq., barrister-at-law, of the Honourable Society of Gray’s Inn. 1648: Recorder of Newcastle. 1652: purchased Whitworth Hall, Stanner's Lane, Spennymoor, County Durham DL16 7QX 54.707, -1.633. He married Mary Legard, daughter of Thomas Legard, of Newcastle, Merchant, and had issue. Mark Shafto died 25 February 1659, and was survived by his eldest son.
